In 2007, recognizing the expanding behavioral health needs in Trumbull County, and the ever more limited financial resources available to meet these needs, Valley Counseling formed the Valley Community Health Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) intended to tap the energy and generosity of our community in helping to improve the understanding of mental illness, eliminate stigma associated with brain diseases, and to raise money to support the many needed programs and services that are not able to be funded by our current funders.

Some examples of programs and services that are not reimbursable are the following: Recreational programs, transportation to mental health services, case management for non-Medicaid clients, community education, prevention and wellness activities, family support groups, incentive programs, and even basic supplies for teaching activities of daily living.
